In the past thirty years, Huot has been prolific, producing a substantial body of oil paintings, pastels,
ink and mixed media drawings. His work embraces portraits, still life's, nudes and jazzy nightclub scenes.
For the past 10 years or so, he has experimented with an abstract and figurative mix, marrying both the
subconscious and conscious together to produce a stronger painting. This has changed his work to a more
twisted and exaggerated view of people who seemed to have multiple personalities that split as day turns into night. His figures, viewed with incisive honesty combined with unfailing compassion, stand as
fascinating and sometimes grotesque of the depth and range of the human personality.

Largely self-taught, he has set himself apart from specific schools of thought and allowed his work to
develop in his own way, While his work sometimes echoes other paintings from sources as different as old
masters and abstract compositions, it is never derivative. This artistic individualism has allowed him
to embrace many different styles and to transform them, with tact and sensitivity into his own.
Accomplishing works in his own manner, he remains himself: an artist who looks at life with humor, vigor, and sensitivity.
